Almotamar Net - mosque preachers almotamar.net - The High Committee for Motherhood and Childhood (HCMC), in coordination with Ministry of Endowments, is about to finish preparing a manual for preachers to help them raise awareness of child rights, as well as another manual on dealing with children in prisons, said Abeer Motlaq coordinator
of Child Abuse Network at HCMC.
In a session held Tuesday by the Child Parliament, Motlaq asked for legal amendments to protect children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Suad Al-Hibshi mentioned the role of UNICEF in supporting governmental and non-governmental bodies that are interested in child problems.
Much of UNICEF's work has been spent on enhancing children participation in society through strengthening institutions and programs of children, in addition to partnership with local institutions in an effort to bring child-related laws to the level of international laws like the Convention on the Rights of Child.

Head of Freedoms and Rights Committee in the Parliament, Mohammed Al-Shaif, did not attend the session as he was abroad.
The Child Parliament decided to send Al-Shaif a letter of complain as he didn't send a representative to attend the session. It is decided the Parliament would host Attorney General to attend the final session on Wednesday, as well as reps of ministries of interior and health to discuss child abuse topics.
