Almotamar.net - As part of the private sector partnership for girl education in Yemen next Monday there will be an inauguration of a campaign aimed at informing on the importance of girl education within local communities in order to increase girls enrollment in schools and guarantee their continuation at school in the academic year 2008-2009.
A press release issued by UNICEF, a copy of which obtained by almotamar.net, mentioned that as part of the slogan of the campaign and partnership under the theme of "Let me Learn" this summer campaign comes in addressing fathers and mothers that school is waiting your daughters as reminding them on the importance of their daughters enrollment and keeping them at school.
This summer campaign includes support to the issue of educating the girl and with many means as there will be a distribution of more than 30 thousand posters, 400 thousand pamphlets and 200 advertisements in various streets in provinces of Al-Dhalie, Lahj, Taiz, Ibb, Hudeida, Sana'a, Aden and Socotra Island. In addition to that the campaign will continue until the beginning of the next academic year. 1.5 million phone short messages will be sent to subscribers especially in the countryside.
The partnership resulted in printing 500 thousand copybooks to be distributed to children with advent of the next academic year. The campaign of next summer will extend to include other private sector partners and the present private sector partners will be honoured.
