Almotamar.net, Saba - The cabinet and governors joint meeting on Thursday chaired by Prime Minister Ali Mujawar discussed priorities of the local authority for present period with regard t economic and social development, including the tackling of situations of failed projects.
These projects are in fields of roads, education, health, water, electricity, and sanitation system in addition to faults in process of developing local resources.
They agreed to hold such meetings every three months to discuss joint efforts to enhance the local development.
The participants formed a joint committee headed by deputy premier, the minister for internal affairs to study operational allocations for the service sectors and executive bodies.
The meeting asked the ministry of finance and other concerned ministries to stop allocating any funds in 2009 state budget for projects which have been in the power of local authority in accordance with the local authority law.
On Wednesday, President Ali Abdullah Saleh held a meeting for the newly elected governors asking the government to draw up a strategy to granting required funds to the local authority to do its role effectively.
