Almotamar.net - Chairman of the Bridges of Culture Forum (BCF) Dr Anbdulkarim al-Eryany on Sunday stressed the necessity of spreading the culture of religious and political tolerance in Yemen. He indicated in his opening address to the 2-day Culture of Religious and Political Indulgence in Yemen Symposium, organized by the Bridges of Culture Forum, that the symposium aims to spread the culture of tolerance and acceptance of the other as well as discarding difference tendencies in the society out of unilateral and repulsive tendency whether at the ideological or the political level.
In his address Dr al-Eryany also reviewed history of Yemen with regard of religious and political tolerance, explaining it was a refuge for many sects and ideas as it is still a homeland fore two heavenly religions for more than 14 hundred years.
On his part, member of the BCF Dr Yassin Saeed Nouman talked in his working paper to the symposium on the experiment of religious tolerance in Aden in the second half of the last century.
Judge Hamoud Al-Hattar, member of the Forum stressed the necessity of reconsidering of some provisions related to dividing the homelands and those provisions that changed in accordance with the change of time and conditions.
The today's session was enriched with discussions on the working papers presented at the symposium it is decided that the symposium will be concluded on Monday with a working session discussing three other working papers.
