Almotamar.net - The first national survey of corruption in Yemen disclosed 8709 cases of corruption in three years, among them are 3932 cases in 2007. The ministries of education, health and public works and the governorates of Ibb, Aden, Mahara and Mahweet were in the forefront of corruption cases.
The survey on events of corruption in Yemen reviewed by a symposium held by the Supreme National Anti-Corruption Commission (ANACC) in Sana'a Sunday mentioned that he issues of corruption, as mentioned by the Central Organisation for Control and |Audition (COCA), for the year 2007 amounted to 102 cases that were discovered. Eleven of those cases were sent to courts and six of them have been decided.
The symposium was attended by leaderships of the SNACC, public property prosecution, the ministry of interior, academics and personalities interested in the subjects. The statistic also clarifies a rise in cases of corruption in Yemen in 2006 as they amounted to 75 cases.
