Almotamar.net - The Higher Judiciary Council (HJC) has Monday accepted to appoint a number of general prosecution members to the Supreme National Anti-Corruption Commission (SNACC) to help it conduct investigations. The move came in response to the Commission's request at the joint meeting of the HJC and the SNACC at an earlier time.
In its meeting today, chaired by Chairman of the HJC, the Chairman of the Supreme Court Judge Issam Abdulahab al-Samawi, it approved the appointment of two judges from Abyan and Hadramiout provinces to the SNACC.
The HJC also extended its thanks and appreciations to President Ali Abdullah Saleh for his continual emphasis on independence of the judiciary power and his directives on not interfering in its work and that was very clear in the joint meeting the cabinet and governors at the end of last week. At that meeting the President urged the local authority to respect independence of the judiciary power and judgments and decisions issued by it.
