Almotamar.net - Supreme National Anti-Corruption Commission (SNACC) on Monday takes part in the preparatory meeting for the establishment of the Arab net for supporting application of the UN Anti-corruption Agreement. The Commission is also to participate in the regional conference on enhancement of cooperation among anti-corruption commissions and development of preventative mechanisms to be held in Jordan on 29-30 July 2008.
Vice-Chairman of the SNACC Dr Balqis Abuisbaa clarified in a press statement the conference deals with the subject of preventing corruption and avoiding it as well as the roles and frames the international agreement has contained in this regard.
Dr Balqis, who with the member of the Commission Khalid Abdulaziz participate in the conference, expects the launching of the official Arab net that would form a regional forum for the exchange and development of knowledge and expertise and experiments among the official commissions specialised in fighting corruption in the Arab countries and between them and their counterparts in the world.
She said the participants in the conference would discuss the available means of technical support to assist implementation of the UN agreement on fighting corruption in the Arab countries, policies and practices for preventative anticorruption and independent bodies for preventative anti-corruption in addition to preventative arrangements, codes of conduct in the public sector and codes of conduct in judiciary and general prosecution.
The participants would also discuss coordination among anti-corruption commissions inside the state and outside it.
