Almotamar.net - The Yemeni astronomer Ahmed Yahya al-Joubi said Friday a partial lunar eclipse will happen for three hours covering all Arab countries, the rest of Asia, Africa, Europe, South America and Australia at a proportion of 81% of the moon.

Al-Joubi told almotamar.net Friday that the eclipse will happen on 17 August 2008 at 12:10 and two seconds of midnight according to Sana'a timing as the south-east of the moon will appear darker and for the Yemeni observer in the south completely. He said the eclipse will begin in the south-east of the moon at 10:35 and 38 seconds pm on 16 August and ends from the south-west of the moon at 1:44 and 33 seconds after midnight on 17 August and the total area of the eclipse will be 375 million square km.
