Almotamar.net - The US Cultural & Information Attaché in Yemen on Saturday expressed his wishes that Yemen would continue its activities aimed at fighting corruption , affirming that anticorruption is not just the responsibility of official institutions but there must be a large-scale alliance between official institutions and the people's in order to defeat the culture of corruption.

At a symposium organised by without restraints organisation the US official added that the American and external support does not solve the problem of Yemen, pointing out Yemen's need for more democracy to fight corruption in the areas of free media, the civil society and honest elections.

On his part the head of civil society organisations sector at the Supreme National Anti-Corruption Commission (SNACC) Izzidin al-Asbahi announced the Commission's intention to launch a national strategy for anticorruption next December and that strategy is prepared by the civil societies that the Commission has earlier held ten meetings for that purpose.
