almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh instructed the formation of operations rooms in Mukalla, Seyoun and Mahra for following up rescue and relief operations for providing shelter for the citizens affected by torrents and to follow up repairing damage of road, telephone, electricity and water and other damage caused by torrents.

Upon his arrival to the city of Mukalla for direct supervision on progress of rescue,, shelter and relief, operations the President also gave his directives to concerned government authorities on speeding up the offering of help and rescue and repair of damage caused by rushing torrents and rainfall in Hadramout and Mahara and the affected areas, in addition to taking necessary precautions o avoid any new damage due to continuous rush of torrents caused by heavy rains.

The President also instructed the Yemeni armed forces and economic institutions to provide tents and foodstuffs and transport them to affected areas and distribute them on the citizens whose houses were damaged of torrents.

On the other hand the correspondent of almotamar.net in Hadramout Valley reported hat 3500 families became homeless because of torrents. The homeless families have been given shelter in schools. About 500 houses were demolished in districts of Hadramout Valley

In Mahara governorate official sources told almotamar.net that rescue teams were able to deliver 15 persons with boats. The persons were stranded in passenger bus for more than 30 hours.
