almotamar.net, saba - President Ali Abdullah Saleh and Vice-President Abid Rabu Mansour Hadi on Monday attended the speech ceremony that has been held on the first anniversary of the Late Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hussein al-Ahmar, the former Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament.
In his speech at the ceremony, President Saleh aid ,� Today we commemorate the first anniversary of the decease of the late struggler Abdullah Bin Hussein al-Ahmar who has a long history in defending the revolution of 26 September , in defence of the yemeni unity. Sheikh al-Ahmar was the man of difficult situations and a man of state of the first class. He was sincere to the national constants and a safety valve for whom many young and old seek.�

In his speech in the ceremony president Saleh said that the summit might be held in Doha capital of Qatar next Friday to discuss current developments in Gaza Strip and the Israeli aggression in addition to efforts of resolving dispute between Palestinian factions.

He said that the disagreement between these factions gave Zionist entity an opportunity to launch its aggression against Palestinian people.

President Saleh made it clear that the call for participation of Palestinian factions was to come out with active steps to enhance unity of the Palestinian people.

He pointed out the problem of disagreement between Arab leaderships.

"The strength of the nation centers on its unity, which would be achieved by offering concessions from these leaders to serve interests of the Arab and Islamic nation. It is not shame as we already offered for Israel, United States and France as well as European Union," he said.

Some 300 Palestinians were reportedly killed and more than 1000 injured in current Israeli offensive against Gaza

In the ceremony, president Saleh highlighted brave positions of senior resistant Sheikh Abdullah bin Hussein al-Ahmar in defending revolution and unity.
