Almotamar.net, Saba - Vice President, the General Secretary of the General People’s Congress GPC Abduh Raboh Mansor Hadi received Tuesday a delegation of the European Commission headed by Patrick Dupont the European Commission representative in the Directorate General for External Relations.

In the meeting, the vice president reviewed steps taken by Yemen in field of democracy and multiparty and the freedom of expression and press.

He affirmed that the political leadership represented by President Ali Abdullah Saleh believes on democracy as solution for all issues, praising concern and assistance of the European Union for supporting the democracy in Yemen.

The vice president pointed out to results of the talks held with the opposition parties, saying that the Joint Meeting Parties JMP rejected to present names of their representatives to the elections commission.

He said that the General People Congress, who is a responsible in accordance with law and constitution in front of the people, went ahead with preparations for holding the coming parliamentary elections on time.

Hadi said that GPC could not offer further stoops to the JMP, welcoming any proposal by the European delegation in this regard.
