Almotamar.net - Well-informed sources revealed to almotamar.net Friday that a meeting has been recently held between leaderships of the Joint Meeting Parties JMP and the second next official at one of the western embassies in Sana’a. during the meeting there was a sounding out the opinion of the JMP on the participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Yemen next April or its boycotting them especially after the concessions and initiatives presented by the General People’s Congress GPC ruling p [arty via European mediators and director of the American National Democratic Institute NDI for the Middle East Les Campbell, that visited Yemen lately.
JMP’s leaderships presented in the meeting their yet undecided vision on the elections, whether in participation or boycotting them. Those leaderships appeared hesitant in their ideas before the western official due to the difference existing among the parties allied in the JMP. The Yemen Socialist Party YSP, member of the JMP sees the boycotting of the elections and concentration on the so-called the ‘southern issue’ and the Isla party ‘Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen’ which is hesitant in the participation and boycotting for feat of the dismantle of the fragile alliance.
According to the source the leaderships of the JMP asked the western official the opinion of his country and the European Union states with regard to the elections in Yemen and the participation in observing the elections in case the GPC insisted on holding them even individually, the western official replied that his country and the EU states are with Yemen’s security and stability and that the elections are very important a step for the democratic process.
