Almotamar.net - A delegation representing Yemen’s ruling party General People’s Congress GPC is to take part in meetings of the 5th annual conference of Malaysia’s ruling party the United Malays National Organisation UMNO to be held on 26-28 March 2009.

The delegation to be headed by Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and External Relations Sultan al-Barakani includes Yasser al-Awadhi, member of the GPC general committee, Abdulqawi al-Shamiri, head of planning, studies and research office, Abdulrahman bin Dhubai, director of the GPC Secretary General Office, Abdulrahman Jihaf, deputy head of organisation office and Mohammed al-Misbahi, deputy head of the finance office.

The GPC delegation would meet Yemeni students who have studied in Malaysia, the GPC branch in Malaysia and branch of Yemen Youth Federation in Malaysia

Head of the delegation al-Barakani stated that on the sidelines of the UMNO conference the delegation would hold official talks with leadership of the Malaysian ruling party and Malaysian officials dealing with relation of the two countries and peoples and ways of enhancing and developing them.

Al-Barakani also expects that the talks with Malaysian officials would produce the signing of protocols and agreements for cooperation in areas of training and qualification and exchange of expertise between the GPC and the UMNO.
