Almotamar.net - Yemen Interior Ministry has said Sunday that Saudi Arabia authorities have recently released 7 Yemeni fishermen who were a few days ago forced by strong winds and high sea waves in the high seas to seek refuge in the Saudi island of Al-Bark.
The ministry quoted the deported to Yemen fishermen, via the border crossing of Hardh, as saying that when they were caught by Saudi authorities in their regional waters they taken to Al-Bark island where they were detained for several days, afterwards the were transported to Abha from where they have been deported to Yemeni territories.
Security Information Centre of the Interior Ministry the released fishermen reported that the Saudi authorities are still holding 20 Yemeni fishermen in addition to the fishing boat on board of which they were caught nearby the Saudi island of Al-Barak.
The Yemeni Interior Ministry said the Yemen Coast Guard at the Red Sea is following measures for the release of the remainder 20 fishermen still held by the Saudi authorities.
