Almotamar.net, Saba - Yemen and Bahrain have confirmed Tuesday their ever concern and aspiration for establishment of peace and security in the Arab region for the good of the Arab nation, it unity and solidarity in countering challenges of destiny aimed against the Arab nation. President Ali Abdullah Saleh and the King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Esa Al-Khalifa have expressed their hope for in joint cooperation for coordinating Arab stands regarding the process of peace in the region and unification of the Palestinian rank until the achievement of the establishment of the Palestinian state and enabling the Palestinian people to get their legitimate national rights in accordance to the Arab peace initiative and international resolutions and references.
That came during a Yemeni-Bahraini summit held Tuesday evening in the Bahraini capital Manama convening president |Ali Abdullah Saleh and the King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Esa Al-Khalifa.
The summit also discussed the fraternal relations of the two countries, the latest developments in the regional, Arab arenas in addition to topics of common interest.
The summit also reviewed recent developments in the Arab arena in the light of developments witnessed in the Palestinian territories as the two leaders have confirmed the importance of confirming the ceasefire and the return of security and stability to Gaza Strip.
Saleh and Hamad also called for keeping the Arab region away from threats and interventions and dangers of conflicts and wars, demanding that dialogue and understanding the only way for resolving regional differences and disputes.
In the course of their reviewing the fraternal relations the two leaders expressed full satisfaction over progress of bilateral relations in all fields and the importance of developing mechanisms of joint action in the way reflecting desire of the two countries in the growth of these relations in realization of hopes of the two brethren peoples and their common aspirations.
The King of Bahrain accepted a suggestion presented by President Saleh for setting up a common higher committee co-chaired by the two countries� foreign ministers where all concerned sides are represented in it and the Bahraini King considered the proposal as to contribute to push the two countries relations forward to more spacious horizons of constructive cooperation.
The King of Bahrain expressed his gratitude to President Saleh for his noble stands towards the Kingdom of Bahrain that express what Yemen harbors for Bahrain of love across a long history of the two countries� relations and embodied the prominent role of the Yemeni Republic and what it represents of Arab depth for the Kingdom. The King considered the this visit as reflecting keenness of President Saleh on continuation of consultancy and coordination for the good of the two courtiers and peoples and the higher Arab interest.
King of Bahrain also praised the great efforts of President Saleh for enhancement of cooperation and development of bilateral relations in different areas and his appreciation of the distinguished role Yemen plays in supporting Arab solidarity and in defence of the Arab national issues.
President Ali Abdullah Saleh had arrived in Manama Tuesday evening on a brotherly visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. He was received at Manama Airport by His Majesty King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Esa Bin Suleiman Al-Khalifa, Prime Minister Khalifa Bin Salman Al-Khalifa, Sheikh Salman Bin Hamad al-Khalifa, the Crown Prince and the Governor of the capital Sheikh Hamoud Bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa and Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa the foreign minster.
Saleh spoke to media outlets and expressed happiness for visiting the Bahraini Kingdom. The visit comes as responding to invitation extended from King Al-Khalifa.
"We will discuss with the King Al-Khalifa brotherly relations, cooperation in different fields and means of enhancing them," Said Saleh. He added the visit will tackle developments in Palestine and Somalia and means of coordinating the two country's attitudes towards issues included in the agenda of the forthcoming Arab Summit due in Doha this March 30, 31.
"We hope the forthcoming Arab Summit be a summit for unifying Arab front and enhancing solidarity among our Arab nation," he said.
He affirmed Yemen's keenness on enhancing relations with brothers in the Bahraini Kingdom and promoting cooperation with them in different fields.
"No doubt exchanging visits between officials in the two countries will enhance brotherly relations and joint cooperation," he concluded.
Earlier, Saleh paid a visit to the United Arab Emirates this afternoon lasted for few hours. He discussed with Khalifa Al-Nahyan of the UAE brotherly relations between the two countries. They also discussed issues concerning the Arab nation and latest regional and international developments.
