Almotamar.net - Assistant Secretary General for Culture, Thought and Information sector at the General People’s Congress GPC Dr Ahmed Bin Daghr has on Saturday renewed Yemen’s and the GPC’s supportive stand for the Palestinian people and their legitimate struggle for getting their rights and establishment of their independent state and its capital Al-Quds.
Bin Daghr said Yemen has firm stands towards the Palestinian cause, pointing out that the leadership in Yemen represented by president Ali Abdullah Saleh is the sole Arab leadership that presented more than one initiative for Palestine. Receiving on Saturday the Palestinian writer Mohammed Ali Taha, chairman of Palestinian men of letters and writers in the occupied territories who is on a visit now to Yemen, he added that Yemen has clear stands towards the Palestinian issue and wherever there is a Palestinian interest it is a Yemeni and Arab interest. Yemen and the GPC would continue their support for the Palestinian people, confirming this stand includes the leadership and the government.
The GPC Assistant Secretary General expressed his hope that the upcoming Arab summit scheduled in Doha to come out with conclusive resolutions especially regarding the support for the Palestinian people.
For his part, the chairman of Palestinian men of letters and writers in the occupied territories praised stands of the people of Yemen and their leadership supporting and backing up the people of Palestine, valuing stands of President Ali Abdullah Saleh in this regard.
The visiting Palestinian personality also said, “I am very to come from my country Palestine to my country Yemen and to move from my home there to my home here. Since my arrival at Sana’a Airport I did not feel I have come to a strange place and I felt I am at my home.”
Mr Taha presented a detailed explanation on the Arabs situations in the occupied territories and the racial discrimination practiced by the Zionist entity against them and its attempt to confiscate their rights and the violations they are exposed to.” He pointed out that the next stage would witness stronger conflict especially with formation of a rightist extremist government in Israel that is renowned of its stands towards the Arabs in the occupied territories and against the Palestinian issue in general.
The said the Palestinian division is the most gift offered to Israel since the year 1948 , indicating to the attempts to end the Palestinian difference , including the Yemeni initiative and expressing his hope that the upcoming Arab summit in Doha would succeed in ending the crisis of the Palestinian division.
