By:almotamar.net - SANA'A- An information officer at the General People's Congress (GPC) inquired about news published on nasspress news website that denied President Saleh's meeting with the Yemeni Socialist Party (YSP) leadership last Wednesday. The nasspress ascribed the news to an anonymous official who alleged to be a socialist.

The GPC official described the source that denied such news as "stupid or braggart", querying "This is based on the assumption that there is a statement in this regard." He called the source to make sure of such news through the YSP leadership, especially its Secretary-General Yassin Saeed Noman and other leaders.

The GPC official didn't rule out that such a statement published by the nasspress has been ascribed to an official at the YSP.

President Saleh met with the YSP leadership last Wednesday. The almotamar.net came to know that during their meeting, they reviewed the relations between the GPC and YSP, in addition to discussing some main issues related to elections.

The two sides affirmed it is important to make the election process, which is a democratic right, succeed in a way that guarantees the national interest
