Almotamar.net - Chairman of the Supreme National Anti-Corruption Commission SNACC in Yemen Ahmed al-A’anisi stressed on Tuesday the importance of the national legislations conformity with the United Nations Agreement for Anticorruption and so that it would help the Commission and its partners fight corruption and protect the society from its dangers.
In a meeting on Tuesday where the office of the German Technical Cooperation GTZ presented a vision on adaptation of Yemeni legislations to the UN Anticorruption Agreement, al-A’anisi praised the GTZ office cooperation with the SNACC. The expert of the UN Agreement project on anticorruption presented the vision regarding adaptation of Yemeni legislations to the UN agreement in this respect. The vision seeks to setting up a team composed of local experts from government and research bodies for revision the national legislations for a period between 6 to 8 months.
According to a press statement almotamar.net obtained a copy of it, the vision focused on partnership between the SNACC and national institutions concerned with anticorruption in addition to the civil society organisations and the private sector. The expert in UN anticorruption agreement made it clear that the conformity would clarify Yemen’s needs that help it combat corruption in addition to its reflection on the efforts for improving investment climate in Yemen.
The vision suggested Yemen’s benefit from the Indonesian experience in this regard, as Yemeni SNACC is now officially in cooperation with it in addition to the experiences of Bangladesh and Kenya during the period of implementation.
