Almotamar.net - Chairman of the Supreme National Anti-Corruption Commission SNACC in Yemen Ahmed al-A’anisi on Saturday disclosed a big corruption case in government cement factories of which he said it was still under investigation. He pointed out the discovery of 35 transport trucks coming from Saudi Arabia carrying certain substance for cement factories but their manifests are changed into mazot substance, pointing out that the substance destroys ovens of the cement factories. He said it is according to a press release issued by the Studies and Economic Information Centre; almotamar.net received a copy of it.

The Economic Information Centre has also quoted the SNACC chairman as saying the case of the cement factories as “a big disaster for the factories and the national economy.”

On the other hand al-A’anisi affirmed the SNACC appreciation of cooperation between the Commission and the USAID and the International Democratic Institute in Sana’a. He said it was an excellent experience represented an important step for enhancement of partnership with the civil society and a successful beginning.

On conclusion of a programme on small grants for the civil society held in Sana’a on Saturday, organised by the SNACC and in cooperation with the National democratic Institute NDI, al-A’anisi said non-governmental organisations have worked in governorates of Sana’a, Aden, Taiz, Hudeida, Haja, Mareb, Dhalie, Shabwa, Thamar and Hadramout in a team spirit with the partners in the NDI and the colleagues in the sector of civil society of the SNACC. He said in fighting corruption they proceed from a sincere political will launched by President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
