Almotamar.net - The Yemeni criminal prosecution has referred the file of 12 Somali pirates to court on charges of commandeering naval means of transport.

The criminal prosecution accuses the pirates the pirates of kidnapping a means of sea transport which is the Yemeni oil tanker Qana while was sailing from Al-Mukalla to Aden and resisted by force and violence the Yemeni authorities while performing their duties in recovering the vessel from their control.

The prosecution said the commandeering had led to the death of one of the sailors of the oil tanker Saleh al-Qaeti and the missing of another sailor Sharif Ali in addition to the wounding of four other sailors.
