Almotamar.net, Saba - Ministry of Public Health and Population announced on Saturday the discovery of 20 people infected with Swine Flu H1N1 in the country.

Spokesman of the Supreme National Committee to Encounter the International Pandemic of Swine Flu Abdul-Hakim al-Kohlani said the new cases have raised the number of the H1N1-infected cases in the country to 89 people.

Al-Kohlani said that 18 of the discovered cases were infected through contacts and the other two were coming from abroad.

The new cases are currently under medication and isolation in their houses, he said, adding that their health is stable.

Last Thursday, Public Health and Population Ministry said it discovered eight cases infected with H1N1virus, one of them has come from the holy places of Mecca, in Saudi Arabia after performing Umrah.

Contact with prior H1N1-infected cases has raised the number of locally infected people to 68 and only 21 cases have come from outside the country.

About 36 cases have been cured, one died and the others are still under medication.

The first confirmed H1N1-infected case was announced in Yemen on June 16, 2009.
