Almotamar.net - The Higher Security Committee (HSC) held a meeting on Thursday evening in which it considered results of the successful security operation carried out by security apparatuses in Yemen against terrorist elements of al-Qaeda in Arhab, Abyan and the capital Sana’a and resulted in the killing of 34 terrorist elements of al-Qaeda and the arrest of 17 others.

The HSC praised the high professional performance and the spirit of bravery and courage shown by the implementers of this successful operation by the security men and antiterrorism forces, that reflected the high level of training and qualification the security apparatuses are entertaining in performing their tasks and duties in fighting terrorism and preserving security, stability and public peace in the society.

An official security source had earlier said that security forces, backed by jets and air force men carried out a successful dual preemptive operation against hideouts of al-Qaeda organization in each of Abyan, Arhab and the capital, resulted in killing 34 and arresting 17 of al-Qaeda elements that were planning to perpetrate suicidal and terrorist operations against a number of Yemeni and foreign installations and interests.
