Almotamar.net - The European Union (EU) has reaffirmed emphasis on its commitment to support Yemen’s unity and stability and to stand by it in encountering the challenges. The EU, in a statement issued by the meeting of the EU foreign ministers council held in Brussels, affirmed following up implementation of its recommendations made last October.

The recommendations voiced the EU commitment to join the international partners , including the neighbours of Yemen , in assisting the Yemeni government through a programme including security , combating terror , the political dialogue and offering human and economic assistance to ensure harmony and effectiveness of all local and international efforts.

The EU also welcomed London meeting on Yemen, expressing its looking forward for communication continuously with Yemen and the regional and international partners to follow up its results.

The EU has also welcomed the call by President Ali Abdullah Saleh for launching a comprehensive national dialogue. It also called all national political forces to exert their utmost efforts for alleviating the tension and strengthening the democratic process in Yemen.
