almotamar.net - Assistant Secretary General at the General People’s Congress (GPC) for the Information Sector Dr Ahmed Ubeid Bin Daghr has affirmed that the Arab stance in general and the Gulf in particular is strongly supportive and backing up the Yemeni unity and it realises its strategic importance in stability of the region and the world.
In an interview to the Oman newspaper Oman published Tuesday, Dr Bib Daghr said he Arab stand towards the Yemeni unity is generally positive and absolutely there is no Arab or international stance hostile to the unity declaring to be against the unity.
H said there may be regional parties offer support to elements of the Houthis or elements of the movement in the southern governorates, but even these sides are shy to say they offer support against Yemen’s unity or interest.
Regarding acts of violence of the so-called southern movement, Bin Daghr clarified that the unity would triumph because it is a great project and the other small projects would recede because they have mo horizon or future.
He also lauded the stands of the Sultanate of Oman that supports Yemen’s unity, security and stability and Oman’s great efforts fore assisting Yemen to overcome its economic challenges and qualifying its economy to be integrated with economies of the states of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
Dr Bin Daghr also stressed that the war in Saada depends on the basis of the six points. If the Houthis abided by them there would not be another war. If the Houthi incorporated in the political life and accepted the democracy and practiced it there would be no war because he would possess the ability to submit his political programme to the society as he wants.
He expressed his regret that there are some regional forces that do not want stability in Yemen and want tension in Saada and they consider this situation as a truce. He added that the people in Saada and its neighbouring provinces would proceed towards peace and would keep steps leading in the end to achieve stability in this region.
On the other hand Dr Bin Daghr pledged that the government would continue its efforts in fighting terror, drying up its springs and hunting down elements of al-Qaeda organisation and foiling its plots for carrying out terrorist acts targeting security and stability and public peace of the society.
