Almotamar.net, Saba - Vice President Abdu Rabo Mansour Hadi stressed on Wednesday the need to give the agricultural sector in Yemen the importance it deserves.
Inaugurating the First National Festival of Agriculture "Sana'a 2010", organized by Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation and Sana'a University, Hadi called upon the rectors of the Yemeni universities to allocate a large portion of their attention for the agricultural academic aspect.
He noted that this festival reflects the great interest in the agricultural side, pointing out that this aspect is very important in the path of the economic and social life and food security in general.
The Vice President pointed that the utmost efforts should be made in the agricultural areas through the scientific researches and field work in all its forms.
The people's lives and their livelihood are linked to agriculture, Hadi added noting that the College of Agriculture and agricultural institutes almost exist in all provinces and they need to be developed to carry out their duties.
Free areas could be customized for exporting through the passages leading to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman, through which farmers can gain significant benefits and an important stimulus for the agriculture, Hadi explained.
In this regard, he called upon the private sector to work to organize the export operations orderly and scientifically and there would be common benefits.
