Almotamar.net - Parties of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Yemen on Sunday blessed the agreement signed on Saturday between the General People’s Congress (GPC) and parliamentary opposition parties of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) for carrying out February agreement under auspices and supervision of President Ali Abdullah Saleh. The NDA parties considered timing of the signing as representing evidence on wisdom of the President and his keenness on gathering factions of the political life in Yemen, as that was his policy since his election as president of the republic on July 17 1978.

The NDA has on Sunday held its meeting presided by the Vice-President of the republic, the 1st Deputy Chairman of the GPC Abid Rabu Mansaour Hadi and attended by members of the GPC’s general committee and the general secretariat. The meeting discussed several issues and developments in the Yemeni political arena.

In a press statement issued by parties of the NDA the meeting expressed congratulations for the people and President Ali Abdullah Saleh on the 32nd anniversary of the election of Saleh as President of the republic by the People’s Council on 17 July 1978.

The meting also expressed its hope that the Saturday agreement would represent an entrance for ending the state of schism and differences and to be a new beginning for facing the country’s pending challenges.

The GPC’s General Committee and parties of the NDA pledged to work for the success of the agreement signed on Sunday between the GPC and the JMP and to put it into force on its dialogue track and its electoral course. Parties of the National Alliance have also called on all to hasten putting a timetable for topics of the dialogue and putting them on dialogue table.
