Almotamar.net, Saba - President Ali Abdullah Saleh paid on Wednesday an inspection visit to the districts of Bani Matar and Shibam Kokaban in Sana'a province.
During the visit, Saleh got acquainted with the conditions and needs of citizens in the two districts and the progress in some projects and floods caused by heavy rains.
President Saleh inspected dams and levees in Kokaban area and saw the amount of water retained inside and he emphasized setting up water facilities, both dams and barriers, to harvest the rainwater and floods to ensure feeding groundwater wells and using it in agricultural irrigation.
He noted the importance of these areas as attractive tourist areas, stressing the need to pay attention for the development of tourism in these areas. He referred to the State's interest in tourism as one of the important resources of the national economy.
President Saleh affirmed the importance of cooperation between citizens and local councils to address issues and accelerate the rates of development.
He pointed out that those councils were founded to serve the issues of citizens and push the development process forward in the administrative departments.
