Almotamar.net, Saba - Qatar voiced on Monday desire to expand its investments in Yemen in areas of tourism, oil and gas.

This came in a letter President Ali Abdullah Saleh received in his residence in French capital, Paris, from Qatari Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

The letter handed over by the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasim Bin Al Thani focused on the joint cooperation relations, topped by the economic and investment cooperation.

In the letter, Qatari Emir expressed Qatar's will to invest in Socotra Island in all tourist areas as well as in oil and gas sectors and establishing a joint Yemeni-Qatari company for explore oil and gas and upgrade oil blocks.

President Saleh and Qatari Prime Minister reviewed, during the meeting, several issues of common interests and aspects of joint cooperation.

Saleh has welcomed the Qatari investments in Yemen, accenting that they will be received all care and facilities.

Moreover, the President saluted the Qatari role in supporting Yemen's unity, security, stability and development either via London conference or via Yemen's Friends Group. He also hailed the Qatari efforts in implementing the six-term agreement and bringing peace back to Sa'ada.
