Almotamar.net - Two of al-Qaeda terrorist elements in Yemen have been killed Saturday while they were in a suicidal attempt with a car bomb and were aiming at a military patrol on its way to Modia area, Abyan province while chasing terrorist elements in the district.
An official source in the local authority in Abyan province said the force engaged with those elements and blasted the car bomb, resulting in killing the terrorists who were in the car.
The source affirmed that the military patrol clashed with terrorist elements was participating in the ambush. The clashes led to the killing of a number of them and wounding others while the security bodies continued hunting down the elements that fled the area to the mountainous areas in the region.
The source also denied allegations reported in some media outlets on the destruction of two army tanks and damaging some military vehicles, saying the allegations were false and groundless. The source said security bodies supported by armed forces units would continue chasing those terrorist elements and preventing them from implementing what they plan of terrorist and destructive acts.
Meanwhile, security forces in Abyan province said they arrested one of the elements of al-Qaeda organization called Hani Ali Mohammed Al-Thuraya in Modia district on Friday.
They said they have seized in his possession important documents and information related to terrorist plans intended to be perpetrated in Abyan province and information on crimes that targeted security leaders in the province in addition to documents that would help security bodies in capturing a number of al-Qaeda organisation elements.
