Almotamar.net - The Specialized First Instance Criminal Court in Yemen has adjourned prosecution of four al-Qaeda suspects to next Sunday due to illness of member of the prosecution presenting the case and absence of the defendants’ defence lawyer.

In the hearing sitting held on Sunday, chaired by Judge Radwan al-Nimr, the court decided the obligation of the prosecution to carry out its previous decision at the sitting on 3 of this month regarding bringing the official of political security Abdullah al-Ashwal to the sitting of next Sunday to reply to claims of the first defendant in the cell of al-Qaeda Badr al-Hassani that he worked as reporter against al-Qaeda organisation.

Defendants Badr al-Hassani , Rami Hans Hermel Welli (German national) , Abdullah Musaid Abdul Aziz al- Rawi (Iraqi) and Saddam al-Raimi are standing trial in this case.

The general prosecution had earlier accused the defendants of participating in formation of armed group for carrying out terrorist acts and targeting foreign and security institutions in Mareb province during the period 2008-2010.
