Almotamar.net, Saba - Prime Minister Ali Mujawar said on Saturday that the Yemeni government had put the development of the tourism sector within the main priorities.
In his speech at the opening of the 2nd Arab Tourism Investment Forum that kicked off today in Sana'a, Mujawar said the government has set out a plan to bring about sustainable tourism development through using the Yemeni tourism products based on the principle of full partnership with the private sector and the responsibility of the government for providing basic services for the sites targeted with the tourism development plan.
Yemen's environment, geographic structure and cultural heritage is a pace with unlimited investment opportunities at a time when the government pins hope on the tourism sector to boost the national economy, he said.
Over the last period, Yemen has been working on providing suitable investment incentives and facilities and improving its investment climate with a focus on issuing and streamlining legislations, mainly in the tourism sector, he said.
The three-day forum aims to introduce the participants to tourism investment projects and opportunities in Yemen and Arab countries, attract new investors for the Arab tourism sector, display experiences, opportunities and the new in tourism investment, Tourism Minister said on Friday.
There would be a focus on displaying tourism investment opportunities in Yemen and Arab countries and discussing studies on tourism investment projects worth about $ 1.5 billion across Yemen, he said, pointing out that Yemen will offer 60 opportunities.
The forum also aims to study how to benefit from workers in the tourism and tourism investment sectors and to gather Arab interested investors and decision makers, he said, adding that it would mainly target big Arab investors.
The main themes include tourism investment and its climate and low cost aviation in the region.
On the sidelines of the forum, an exhibition of tourism products by big investment, real estate finance and tourism services companies will be organized.
