Almotamar.net - The Yemeni {resident Ali Abdullah Saleh arrived Thursday in Eritrean capital Asmara on a visit during which he is to hold talks with his Eritrean counterpart Asaias Afeworki the bilateral relations and developments of situations in the region , particularly the situations in Somalia and the Horn of Africa.

The Eritrean President Afeworki was at the head of the Eritrean senior officials receiving President Saleh at Asmara Airport.

The Eritrean ministers and high ranking officials , civilian and military who were at his reception in addition to Yemen�s ambassador to Asmara and the Yemeni embassy staff and leaders of the Yemeni community in Eritrea.

In statements to the media upon his arrival at the Asmara Airport, the President expressed his pleasure over visiting Eritrea and meeting the Eritrean President Afeworki for discussing bilateral relations and areas of cooperation between the two countries.

The President added he would hold consultations and exchange of opinions regarding the developments of situations in the region, especially development of situations in Somalia and the Horn of Africa, affirming that security and stability in Somalia is a matter concerns each of Yemen and Eritrea and all the states in the region due to its impact on all.

President Saleh said the coordination between the two countries and the region�s countries for the establishment of peace and accord in Somalia and enabling the Somali people to rebuild the institutions of their state and to exert their efforts for reconstruction and development is a matter for the interest of all.

President Saleh renewed Yemen�s keenness on enhancing the relations and areas of cooperation at different levels with Eritrea.

President Saleh drew the attention to existence of man opportunities in this regard and expressed his looking forward that this visit would open new horizons of cooperation at various levels in interest of the Yemeni and Eritrean peoples and in service of security and stability in the region.
