In his speech at the meeting of the GPC and leaderships of parties of the National Democratic Alliance (NDAP) held in Hudeida province on Monday, the Vice President expressed his pride of the large meeting and consultation on a number of national issues. He talked about the events and developments of situations in Yemen and approach of holding the parliamentary elections on 27 April 2011. The Vice President affirmed the size of the changes occurring in various walks of life in Hudeida and the rest of Yemeni provinces in improvement of living conditions and growth of the productive capabilities of the society and the economic structure has become better than it was before the unity despite the difficult and complicated circumstances.

Hadi said Yemen under leadership of President Ali Abdullah Saleh succeeded in defending the national and social gains and Yemen proved to be it is a country impregnable for its enemies and strong by its sons.

The Vice President said that next April Yemen would witness a big democratic event represented by the parliamentary elections. he said the February agreement was an outlet face-saving the parties of the JMP before their members and a means for searching for formulas to develop the political, democratic and electoral system but the spirit of conspiracy and coup returned to control the mentalities of the JMP leaders and interpreted the agreement in the way satisfying the extremist tendency that controlled their behavior in the past years.

The Vice President also clarified that the latest suggestions of the GPC to the JMP was the formation of the supreme commission for elections , they agreed and then retracted and formation of a national unity government to supervise the parliamentary elections and the formation of a sub-committee from the parties represented at the parliament to agree on the constitutional amendments presented by the two sides and finally “our commitment to partnership in a government of national unity after the elections regardless of results of those elections but the JMP refused al those proposals and went to promote rumours and lies . The time was passing quickly and that pushed the GPC and its allies in the national democratic alliance to cal the parliamentary bloc of the alliance to discuss the amendments to the elections law to guarantee holding the elections on time.”

Hadi said, “ Now the law has been approved and the supreme commission for elections has been reformed from judges , which was a suggestion by the opposition in the agreement of principles in 2006 , we call leaders of the JMP to give priority to the voice of reason and interest of the homeland to concede to the interest of the homeland. “
