Almotamar.net, Saba - President Ali Abdullah Saleh ordered on Thursday on his visit to Aden Channel to provide a new building and modern equipment for the TV to enable it to keep up with advances in media and compete efficiently.

The government has been developing the channel and the performance of its staff since 1994 and it also plans to further modernize the TV because we are fully aware of the key role played by the media in serving development and presenting the truth, he told reporters.

He met with the director and staff at the channel and was briefed on the workflow of the channel and all efforts in improving its performance and special programmes.

Saleh praised the performance of the TV, pointing to its role during the 20th Gulf soccer championship, as he urged the media to mobilize efforts and energies to serve the processes of building and development.
