Almotamar.net - Head of the Information Office at the General People’s Congress (GPC) Tareq al-Shamy has affirmed Monday the right of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) to express their opinion within the frame of the constitution and the law, away from instigation of chaos and violence and the attempt of forcing their coup visions on others.
Commenting on a statement by the JMP, al-Shamy said,” Those trying to instigate anarchy and acts of violence and to push the innocent for realization of self interests in addition to waving the security card in the face of the constitutional rights are but trying to play with fire,” calling on the JMP to benefit from lessons of the past and not to stand as a tumbling stone before the people who will keep their security and stability.
In a statement to News Yemen website, al-Shamy added that the GPC has repeatedly expressed its keenness on the serious and responsible national dialogue and that all should take part responsibly in safety of the homeland and the society. he said the GPC has always expressed its keenness on national accord in the constitutional amendments and the participation of all in the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled next April as a constitutional right, adding “ but he JMP has another programme far from democracy.”
Al-Shamy said, “ The JMP does not want constitutional reforms , no participation in the elections and does not want others to take part in them and holding them on time.”
He pointed out that the GPC still hopes to hear the voice of reason among circles of the JMP towards achieving the constitutional amendments and the right.
