Almotamar.net - A joint meeting was held Saturday evening of the General Committee of the General people’s Congress (GPC), the ruling party I Yemen, and a number of the state civilian and military leaderships under chairmanship of President Ali Abdullah saleh.

The meeting studied developments of current situations in the national arena, mainly the regretting events that took place on Friday at the university residential quarter in Sana’a that resulted in the fall of a number of martyrs and the wounded of the sons of the homeland.

The meeting listened to several reports relating to what happened and the measures taken by general prosecution for investigating in the event and to know perpetrators and the causes behind that and the victims resulted from that.

The meeting has affirmed continuation of the committee that the national defence council directed to be formed on Friday composed of the minister of justice, the minister of human rights, the general prosecutor and three members of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) to work in the investigation to reveal the fact relating to the event and to arrest any person or persons involved in this event.

The meeting expressed its regret for that event denounced by all in which the state has no relation and resulted from the mobilization and agitation carried out by parties of the JMP an elements connected to them of the so-called the preparatory committee for national dialogue that created this sedition.

The meeting praised decision of the President of the republic of considering those who have fallen in this event as and other events in other provinces as martyrs of democracy , compensation of their families and treatment of the wounded at the expense of the state and announcement of Sunday as a national mourning day on the martyrs of democracy .
