Almotamar.net - Aden, Yemen- Assistant Secretary General of the General People’s Congress (GPC) Dr Ahmed Ubeid Bin Daghr has said Monday that the aggression on President Ali Abdullah Saleh and senior leaderships of the state in al-Nahdain Mosque where 13 people met martyrdom and injury of 185 persons has dropped all political and religious and even cultural considerations and overstepped all redlines.

In his opening address to meetings of the 5th session of the local standing committee of the GPC branch of Aden province and Aden University , Bin Daghr affirmed the fall of betting of the enemies and their weapons to coup on the constitutional legitimacy and that was by virtue of steadfastness by majority of the Yemeni people , emphasizing that violence which hid behind false slogans and reliance on the outside for reaching power without consideration of the national will determined by ballot boxes , failed in achieving their goals.

Dr Bin Daghr conveyed greetings of President Ali Abdullah Saleh and Vice President Abed Rabou Mansour Hadi to the conference, wishing success for the session and coming out with results enhancing the march of the national and democratic construction.

Dr Bin Daghr pointed out that holding this session comes in very complicated exceptional circumstances never known by Yemen since the establishment of the unity. He said the crisis has reached its apex and there are now continuous attempts to destroy the national accomplishments achieved since the eruption of the Yemeni September and October revolution, the latest of which was the aggression on President Ali Abdullah Saleh and senior leaderships of the state.

He sais the causes of the crisis in Yemen are clear but it is inconvenient now to put the blame on anyone but “we in the GPC’s leadership have endeavored sincerely and with commitment and sense of responsibility towards national solutions for the differences that governed the relations between us and our partners in the political life. “ He added that they had abided by the constitution preparations for 2009 lections but the JMP were not ready for the elections so they demanded postponement and extension for the parliament term and the GPC accepted that in search for a national stance grouping between the political factions on one stance.

He said February agreement included obvious directions for constitutional amendments leading to new political electoral system safeguarding the national democratic experience against descending to the tragic situation in which we are now.

Bin Daghr said the JMP raised the ceiling of political demands and worked on escalation at different levels instead of drafting new constitution and electoral system pushing forward the democratic experience.

He added that with the beginning of this year and the political protest in some Arab countries, the some have imagined that this experience is able to be repeated without realizing the difference in circumstances and variance in experiences.

Bin Daghr added that “our pioneering organization has contained all the first shocks since last January and when some military units violated the constitution and tried to stage a coup on the political system and was followed by attempt of some tribes to take control of some government institutions in the capital and aggression on security of the homeland, which was known as Al-Hasaba clashes “

Then there was the big surprise represented by the aggression on the President Ali Abdullah Saleh and the senior leaderships of the State, Dr Bin Daghr said.

He added that all betting of the enemies fell and the legitimacy remained steadfast by virtue of support of the majority of the people of Yemen.
