On whether the opposition insisted on the transfer of power t the vice president first , al-Barakani said by such an offer “ we would have made our people and the world witness on the extent of the Joint Meeting Parties insistence on excluding the will of electors and resorting to political agreements ,” adding that the process of transfer is carried out by the people and not to be decided by political parties and incase the opposition insisted on its stand “ we would stick to stay of the President until the end of his constitutional term in 2013 and we have no other option.”
He added “ We in the ruling party, are offering concessions when we accept holding early elections and to prove to the world our keenness on the national partnership and overcoming the crisis and the opposition would be responsible , otherwise there is a file not closed yet , represented by the criminal attack that targeted the President of the republic and senior officials of the state and this makes us give priority to announce results of investigations and then sending to court those who perpetrated the crime , on basis that those that participated and contributed to the crime from parties cannot be partners in the political process and the people have the right to know who the perpetrators are.”
