Almotamar.net-saba - President Ali Abdullah Saleh sent on Wednesday a condolence message to the family of Shura Council chairman Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Ghani.

In the message, Saleh offered his sincere sympathy for Abdul-Ghani's family, considering his death as a great loss not only to them but also to the president and to all Yemeni people.

"The country has lost one of its honest men. A statesman who has worked silently and efficiently in all the posts he has held since the beginning of his career till his death" Saleh said.

Abdul-Ghani's death is a personal loss to me. "He was a soulmate to me. We have worked together to realize all the goals for the country's progress and development", he added.

Saleh said that the those, who wanted such end to this "brave fighter", were planned to collapse the state, devastate the country and kill innocent souls, "thus they must be punished as strong as their horrible act", the President said.

Chairman of Shura Council was died on Monday of injuries from the attack on the Presidential palace on June 3.

Abdul Ghani was hospitalized along with President Ali Abdullah Saleh and a number of state officials in Saudi hospitals.

Abdul Ghani was buried in Sana'a today [Wednesday].
