In a signed letter to Hadi, the members called for the speedy release of the fishermen and for more than 1,000 seized fishing boats to be returned.

''All Yemeni fishermen in Eritrean prisons should be compensated fairly for the time they spent in the prisons; in addition, the corpses of martyrs, of those who were killed in Eritrean prisons, should be returned to their families,'' read the letter.

�This problem must be resolved and action must be taken to ensure that such actions toward Yemeni fishermen by Eritrean authorities are not repeated,� the letter continued.
