The Cabinet on Wednesday called for immediately ceasing clashes and all acts of violence in Dammaj area in Sa'ada province.

In its weekly meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mohamed Salem Basindwa, the Cabinet called on the parties involved in the Dammaj conflict to resort to reason and dialogue to address any problems and keep away from sectarian impasses, which undermine the country's stability and negatively impact on the national dialogue.

It also urged the presidential committee charged with resolving the Dammaj conflict to accelerate measures to ensure the immediate ceasefire between the two sides and bring military units in the confrontation areas after being evacuated from all armed groups.

Concerning the terrorist acts carried out by al-Qaeda militants in some districts of Baidha and Hadramout provinces, the Cabinet ordered the Defense and Interior Ministries to intensify measures to hunt al-Qaeda elements and foil their criminal plans.

It underlined its support for all actions taken by the Defense and Security Ministries to underpin the country's security and stability.

Moreover, the Cabinet approved a draft law on the establishment of the province of the Socotra archipelago submitted by the Legal Affairs Minister.

It instructed the Local Administration Minister to form a committee of legal experts to pay a field visit to the archipelago to make the appropriate administrative division of the province and submit the achievement report to the Cabinet in less than three months.
