almotamar.net - President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi on Monday valued highly the European Union (EU) assistance to Yemen during this critical stage, especially in the security field.

During his meeting with Director for North Africa, Middle East, Arabian Peninsula, Iran and Iraq in the European External Action Service (EEAS) Christian Berger and head of the EU delegation in Yemen Bettina Muscheidt, Hadi said that the establishment of police stations in the provinces' capitals in cooperation of the EU would represent a significant step in the way of the ongoing cooperation between Yemen and EU.

He stressed the urgent need of EU assistance in the next stage in the technical, security and economic fields to help build a new Yemen.

Berger and Muscheidt stressed that the EU aid to Yemen will continue in various fields in order to contribute to succeeding the transition and change processes according to the Gulf initiative and UN Security Council resolutions 2014 and 2051.

They underscored the EU's support to President Hadi and his all actions to carry out the Gulf initiative.
