Almotamar.net - The Constitution Drafting Committee held on Sunday its first meeting , elected its presidency and approved an initial program to start its work.

In the meeting held at the Republican Palace in Sana'a, Ismail Ahmed al-Wazeer was elected as Head of the Committee , Judge Dr. Najeeb Shameeri and Dr. Nihal al-Awlaqi as Deputies, Dr. Maeen Abdul Malik Ismail as Rapporteur of the Committee.

Following his election, Head of the Committee underlined the national and historic mission of the Committee, confirming that the members of the committee would work under the oath they had taken.

Al-Wazeer noted that the whole people is looking forward to what would come out of this committee.

"The work will be big and arduous and the task is not easy and requires good preparation and scientific mechanisms", al-Wazeer said.

At the meeting, Secretary General of the NDC Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak reviewed the role to be undertaken by the General Secretariat in providing the technical ,administrative, financial and media support to the committee.
