Foreign Minister Dr. Abu Bakr al-Qirbi discussed on Sunday with Russian ambassador to Yemen Vladimir Didohchin the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways of enhancing them.

The meeting dealt with the development of the political process in Yemen and role of the ambassadors of the ten countries sponsoring the GCC-mediated initiative in supporting it.

At the meeting, the Russian ambassador reviewed his country's position towards the current situation in Ukraine and the referendum that is happening in Crimea, noting that the Russia is ready to cooperate with the western countries to find a solution to this crisis.

For his part, al-Qirbi affirmed the importance of calm and creating climates for diplomacy to resolve the Ukrainian crisis.
