Almotamar.net - An official military source has confirmed that hundreds of al-Qaeda terrorists were killed and injured, during the recent military operations in southern provinces of Abyan and Shabwa.

the source said that dozens of al-Qaeda terrorist leaders, mostly from Arab and foreign countries, were killed also during the military operations, as well as destroying and capturing a number of the terrorist elements' strongholds and sites in districts of Shabwa and Mahfad district in Abyan province.

The source pointed out that a number of the misguided elements had fled the confrontation areas to different directions, calling on the armed forces and security services and the tribesmen fighters ( the people's committees) in provinces adjacent to the areas of confrontations to tighten the blockade and control in order to capture those elements and prevent their leakage to other provinces.
