Almotamar.net - The military forces have killed a Saudi militant of al-Qaeda in Shabwa province, the Defense Ministry's website reported on Monday.

The Saudi militant is called "Majed al-Mutairi", a military official told the website.

Hundreds of al-Qaeda terrorists, many of them were leaders, were killed or wounded or arrested, during the recent military operations in the southern provinces of Abyan and Shabwa since the beginning of the military offensive two weeks ago, a military source said.

Most of them were from Arab and foreign countries, the source said, adding that many of the misguided elements had fled the confrontation areas to different directions.

He called for tighten the security measures in the adjacent provinces to capture the fled elements
